Lucky for me I had seen this before (playing with a SanDisk USB 2 6-in-1 reader and installing a USB 2 driver that was unneeded in 10.2.5) and had another OS X drive to boot off of internally. Not work = my Mac would no longer would boot up at all. Trying that new Orange Micro USB 2 driver on my FW 800 dual 1.25 Gz Mac (without an Orange Micro card, but with the “good” NEC controller) did not work. I posted this in the BBS this (yesterday) afternoon : ![]() A Dual 1.25GHz MDD owner noted the same (major) problem mentioned yesterday by a MDD Dual 1GHz owner (which did not have the NEC chip) ![]() I have not read anywhere where the Orange Micro drivers add USB2 functionality or even work:Īnother MDD G4 USB 2.0 Driver report on Orange Micro drivers not compatible –Īnother report as a follow-up to yesterday’s news items on possible USB 2.0 drivers for NEC USB 2.0 chip based MDD G4/1.25-1.42GHz models.
